Groundwater Contaminants: Sources Prevention
The Environmental Safety Company (EPA) has enacted a number of packages which can be designed to protect groundwater. These applications embrace the Safe Drinking water (Related Homepag) Act (SDWA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Complete Environmental Response, Compensation and Legal responsibility Act (CERCLA), the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), the Toxic Substance Management Act (TSCA) and the Clean Water Act.
A seven person Drinking Water Advisory & Operator Licensing Committee oversees the operation of this system. The committee members are made up of 1 engineer from the Division of Health, one consulting engineer who designs water system initiatives, one engineer who's active in instructing at a state university, and four Class A operators. Aside from the Department of Health representative, every member serves a single time period of seven years. Candidates for the committee are nominated by any of the assorted trade groups lively in drinking water. All candidates are presented to the Board of Well being, who determines which candidate is selected.
Collaborating on this mission are Dr. Markus Brinkmann, Assistant Professor at the varsity of Environment and Sustainability on the University of Saskatchewan, and the Secure Drinking Water Foundation (SDWF). Dr. Brinkmann, one of his students and the SSRWSI technician are enterprise the fieldwork and SDWF shall be supplying further communications and academic materials.
